Out of sight, out of mind

It’s an old saying. We’ve all heard it before. And it’s true. Research by Prezi and cognitive neuroscientist Dr. Carmen Simon shows that it takes 5 to 7 impressions for people to remember a brand. How long does the memory last? Research also shows that consumers forget branded content in 3 days. Your brand needs to be out there a lot to be continuously remembered. With the constant flow of information, our minds are filled with new brands constantly if we want it or not. It’s about keeping your brand out in front of your target audience.

You may think I already do this and we bet you don’t do it as much as you probably should. You’re thinking…

I post all the time.
Reality – Algorithms show what they want, so your audience isn’t seeing it that much.

My clients know what I do.
Reality – They knew what you did for them when you did, but will they think of you the next time and do they know the other things you do?

People don’t want to hear more from us.
Reality – They can ignore it if they want, but for a second, they see your name which builds awareness.

We don’t have anything new to say.
Reality – Share your wisdom on a topic, post a picture, tell a story from the week. Heck, you can google a list of email or social media topics. And if you still need help, let us know and we’ll brainstorm with you.

Get your name out there. You aren’t bugging people. You’re lucky if they see it.
