FAQs on Long & Short of It

The Short Story: FAQs

Many of the people we talk to ask us the same questions. So, we thought we would share the answers to our broader group of colleagues, friends, and generally nice people who like to chat with us.

If we missed something you want to know, send us the question and we’ll be happy to answer it. We are open books.

What do you do?

We build strong brands through insights-driven solutions. You may still be wondering what??? Well, our work mainly focuses around brand platform development, strategic planning, and target audience insights. We help companies answer questions like- what does my brand stand for, what is our marketing strategy, and how can we get new ideas for our business.

Where is your office?

We work out of Limelight, a co-working space in Ohio City. We love the energy, the people, pretty much everything about it. We also have offices in our homes and we often work from our clients’ offices. Oh, and we love a good coffee shop for a change of scenery. Our favorites are Babe’s and Loop.

How do you get new business?

This is the question that all small businesses ask each other. And, it’s the hardest thing as a small business. Our new business is mainly through referrals. So, please tell your colleagues and friends about us. Thanks!

Who designed your logo?

Thank you to the lovely team at flourish for our beautiful logo. We had an idea for a company and they brought it to life visually.

What does your name mean?

It has a double meaning and if we’re in person, we just stand up. The obvious answer is our size difference. Dean is giant (6’5”) and Sue is tiny (4’10”). The more hidden meaning is in what we do. We take a lot of information and bring it down to just what is needed.

Are you married?

Yes, but not to each other. This one still amazes us…seriously??? We’d kill each other if we were married!

Dean, are you still in Texas?

Yes, he lives there so he’s still there. But, he often visits the CLE.

Is it hard to work from two locations?

Not at all. Thank you Zoom! And luckily, those who really didn’t understand video calls are now used to it and enjoy it. So, that is one good thing from the horrible pandemic.

What do you think of our [website, email, logo, etc]?

Well, what are you trying to achieve? We can give you our opinion, but it’s helpful to know your objective with whatever it is we’re reviewing. While it may be pretty, it may not be serving its intended purpose.

Do you still like each other?

Hmm…well…most of the time yes :)
