Compass One Healthcare - Strategic Planning and Ideation

Objective

Compass One Healthcare (U.S. headquarters in Philadelphia, PA and a division of the Compass Group, CMPGF) has seven lines of business under two company brands, Crothall and Morrison. The positioning for their lines of business is that they help their clients “improve the patient experience.” Although it is currently a very successful position, their competitors are now increasingly saying the same thing. The challenge was to develop their “next story” and more importantly, a more powerful strategic value proposition to differentiate Compass One and help ensure they continue to firmly dominate the competition in the years to come.

Solution

Long & Short of It facilitated strategy & ideation sessions to create the “next story” which resulted in the development of a new product and service called Compass One Connect. This will now serve as the basis of not only their differentiating story, but also as a platform that will set the stage for helping them secure their ongoing market dominance. This initiative resulted in the creation of a new department and development of new capabilities that are now being operationalized. We look forward to the ongoing outcome of this initiative that will help Compass One continue to be the market leader for years to come.

Catholic Charities - Ideation & Strategic Planning

Objective

Catholic Charities of Cleveland developed a strategic plan to guide them in achieving their organizational-wide goals. The plan consists of several strategic initiatives that are all incredibly significant in nature. They span from how to provide better treatment for the opioid epidemic to better ways of dealing with compassion fatigue and how to increase funding for their programs. Their objectives were to develop ideas and clear paths forward on how to activate their strategic plan.

Solution

Over the course of 2+ years, L&SOI has been engaged in 6 separate strategy and ideation sessions to tackle these initiatives. Each session was customized to the objective, topic, and attendees. The sessions each produced hundreds of ideas which were then developed into several concepts that were in turn prioritized, refined, and implemented. The tangible outcomes of implementing the concepts are helping Catholic Charities achieve their objectives.

Meaden & Moore - Marketing & Brand Development

Objective

Meaden & Moore has two primary sides to their business, traditional and forensic accounting services, along with an extensive consulting practice. This 100+ year old institution with offices located in the U.S., Canada, and London was challenged with being able to tell a consistent and unifying story of who they are, what they do, and the value they bring to their clients. Their objective was to create a singular message across all mediums to clearly and uniquely define Meaden & Moore.

Solution

Their initial brand platform was developed in 2014. Since then, their growth in size, capabilities, and expanding international presence, required an updated unifying story along with a refresh of their brand platform. Through primary research of their employees, clients, competition, and market factors, we updated their brand and developed their singular story - expressed through an elevator speech, advertising messaging, core essence, and tag-line.

Ahola - Brand Development

Objective

Owned and operated by the second and third generation of the Ahola family, Ahola is a payroll and human resources company that has been in business for 50 years. As the company grows, they are becoming more consultative with an ever increasing focus on the full spectrum of human resources offerings vs. a single focus on payroll services. The target markets are also expanding to new industries, larger companies, expanded geographies, and not primarily family owned businesses. This growth drove the need and objective to develop a brand platform to define them as they move into the future.

Solution

L&SOI developed a brand platform that defined their unique character as a family owned business with roots from their Finnish heritage, but now with a more aspirational tone of sophistication, expanded expertise and products, that positions them for their continued growth.
